IIRC, in the early 70's GB stems were actually made in English lengths, 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2". So Larry is probably looking for a 2". Don't know for sure if that length was made or not. If not, a reasonable substitute might be a Nitto Technomic, which at one time came in very short extensions and in 25.4 clamp which would fit English bars. I do think in the late 70's the GB stems like Larry is talking about was sold in nominal metric lengths, but I don't know if they actually changed the previous extensions in inches, or just rounded to the nearest 5mm for marketing purposes.
