I have these same levers but the calipers have an odd eccentric mechanism to mount the brake blocks. I think the ones I have are the end of the line for Universal and date from the early 1980's when these stupid eccentric adjusters were the fad. So my guess for these is 1980.

If anyone would like new brake hoods in the package for these levers I have some in white $20 shipped.

Subject: [CR] Universal "Squadra" Brake Date???

I have a set of Universal "Squadra" sidepull brakes and am curious if anyone knows their date of introduction? They have nutted non-recessed mounting bolts, so this kind of threw me a curve in estimating a date.

Appreciate any help that can be provided.
