Not sure how old those sexy wheels are supposed to be, but I built a set with black lacquered 15 x 17 gauge Rodelli spokes back around 1974 for my (very short) racing career, Campy low flange hubs, 36 spokes, fiamme yellow label rims, those spokes w/ alloy nipples, and silks ... always silks. I always thought they were a sexy looking set of wheels on my black Woodrup. The spokes held up admirably. It was the rims that didn't last. Replaced them more than I care to admit, pricey on a bike shop mechanic salary. They went for about $ 100 with an unused brass 13-17 straight block at one of Johnny P's auctions in Greensboro. I think Ray Homiski got 'em.

Early hard silver Assos rims on 28 hole Pelessier hubs - nice light wheels for you skinny guys. I emailed the seller for more details: 126mm rear spacing, minimal miles, no problem shipping them wherever. I've always been a big fan of Assos rims, and you don't see too many of this model - it's far less common than the later dark anodized 16mm and 18mm versions. Don't imagine the black spokes are period correct, but that's an easy fix. I was going to grab these for myself, but they're a little too light for my 210 lbs., I fear. No relation to the seller. http://annarbor.craigslist.org/bik/1506942094.html
