Not really a scam, but an on-line book or catalogue of bicycle components, most of which are no longer available. It was started a few years after the CR timeline, but does contain a lot of on-topic components.

What makes it confusing and deceptive is coding that displays today's date and prices from old catalogues/websites and no actual links where there parts may be purchased. I too was misled when first came across it and sent someone down a dead end to buy a component. "Scam" is maybe too strong a term. How about an interesting waste of time if you actually need a part?
