Sounds like just a quality control problem, unless they were made for some really obscure obsolete thread standard. TA did a couple of years ago make some pedals that were supposed the fit both BSC and French cranks. The thread diameter sorts of split the difference between the two, French being slightly smaller. The pedals were just slightly loose in BSC cranks, and took more than average force to install in French cranks. I still have one such pair NIP as well as a couple installed.

But it sounds like you are saying your pedals are too tight to thread into either BSC or French cranks. So this one has me puzzled. American Ashtabula cranks like those found on some fillet brazed Schwinns and lots of middleweight and heavyweight American bikes used 1/2" pedal thread, but in the unlikely event that TA did make those, they would be loose in both French and BSC cranks - probably wouldn't even engage. Not like TA to have that big a manufacturing error, although some of their recent pedals aren't as well made as their old ones. But In The Day, their quality control was far superior to, for example Lyotard, and some would say the equal of Campy. So this still seems very strange and leaves me thinking these might be made for some thread standard I'm unaware of.

\r?\n> I then attempted to install the pedals onto the two

\r?\n> I have installed many pedals, both new and used, to many
