In my opinion, several internet timelines ARE WRONG about nuovo record headset chronology. I have four bikes that are nearly dead-stock, as follows:

1967 Carlton Flyer: Missing front wheel 1970 Raleigh International: Dead Stock, even the tires (cont. sonderklasse) 1974 Raleigh International: Rear Rim Replaced (Fiamme Red Label) 1974 Raleigh Professional: Saddle and Pedals replaced; frame repainted.

All 4 bikes have date-matched (crankset, rear mech, locknuts) campagnolo. Now let's look at the headsets :

1967 Carlton Flyer: No <C> Headset 1970 Raleigh International: No <C> Headset 1974 Raleigh International: <C> Headset 1974 Raleigh International: <C> Headset

My conclusion :

The <C> appeared sometime between 1971 and 1973, in the Nuovo Record headset series. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.
