Hello Mr. Bozzi,

I have a 1969 Atala Record Professional. The bike is chrome and was built in January 1969 (A69****). I apologize I could not complete the entire serial #, but the bike is not near me at the moment. It utilized the first Campagnolo calipers, which did not say Campagnolo on them. The front derailleur was the Nuovo Record lower drop slotted cable stop design with the unique cable guide and stop on the down tube. Everything else concerning the bike looks 1969, but I don't know if the bike was so close to the year transition that the few and most likely rare parts were utilized. It is a nice for touring somewhat a cruiser, but relatively heavy for racing. The tubing is Reynolds 531 with an Italian threaded Nuovo Record bottom bracket. Thanks for your input Emilio and I wish you many happy and safe days of cycling.

Best Regards, John Proch La Grange, Texas

Reynolds started producing butted steel tubing in 1898; the "531" tubing was introduced in the 1930s.

Columbus started production in 1930.
