Hello List,
For removal of fixed cups, I use a tool I made from the instructions on Sheldon Brown's website,
It simply consists of a large bolt and a stack of washers! Never had a problem removing any cup with it, even one that had been in place since about the 1940's! total cost $3 Australian Dollars!
never saw the need for an expensive tool, when home mode will do!
