...and what's the real story on the cage? Does the conversion use one cage plate or two? It sounds like the current reproduction uses one, but the pictures that have been circulating here show both one-sided and two-sided variants.
Just curious whether there's any big functional difference between the two configurations.

Note Dons derailleur is of a 3 rd variation I have not seen before. Looks like this unit had many steps in its evolution. This unit uses two of the same pulley (Benelux?) while earlier ones had one each Cyclo and Benelux. Later one uses stock Campagnolo pulleys with large aluminum washers as chain guides
