Didn't Harris cyclery once sell a kind of brake pivot bolt that could give a guy additional clearance when the tire is nearly touching the fork crown. The bolt is either in reality or my imagination, but as I remember it, the bolt exits the fork crown and then turns up so that one can mount a standard brake caliper on a tight clearance track bike or the like. I see they sell drop bolts but no lift bolts for the opposite situation...

I bet you could just turn the drop-bolts up instead of down...
