I was so amazed and please to see this seller actually listing these Galli Criterium brakes for what they originally sold for!!!

A nice NOS/NIB set for $90. I recall around 1980 this is the exact price they sold for then.....cool. Come to think of it, thats roughly what Campy NR sold for back then too.

Not to give the seller too many accolades since he is also selling a beat up pair of same vintage pedals for $50 that originally sold for $8.

http://ebay.com/<blah>

The more I think about it, I might be deluding myself in that the seller most likely has no idea of what they sold for new---as he might try for 4X that amount---but it was a nice thought while still fresh in my mind.

Regardless, I had/have a pair of these buggers with the Ti spindles and I am on my second set of pads. they originally came on an early 80s Pinarello and I like em lots; a bunch lighter than Campys and yes, brake just as nice with the same diameter cable as Campy. Nels Cone Seattle WA

If you have read the last two messages, you now see the reason why it is unwise to judge particular purchases by others. Who are we to say it is wise or foolish for someone else to pay X amount for anything?

I often tell a story to new bike shop employees about a woman who brought in a very inexpensive bike to be repaired. It had many problems and our shop person told her, "That is such a cheapo bike, it isn't worth performing the repairs you are asking us to do..." She then explained that this bike had been given to her by her husband who had just died tragically. We repaired the bike.

So let's just talk less about what something is WORTH, OK?

Since you have chosen to call me name on the list Nels I have to come out of

the closet and say you have no idea what the bleep you're talking about. I

do not like being called a fool. I am anything but that. Ask around. The

bike is an amazing item, very hard to come by with the right parts, and very

very beautiful. Go back to collecting your Schwinn Varsities or whatever it

is you collect.

Dale....if you want to boot me for this it was worth it. And, Emilio Bozzie

is still dead.

From the guy who bought the bike that deserves the exuberance it got.
