Subject: [CR] LERI bicyles: Mirella, Mondiale

I saw the recent discussions of Fork Crowns and various marques and I just happened to stumble upon that same issue with the LERI marque of Italy which all and all made some pretty obscure, but reasonable bikes and maybe even still be in business.

I saw this bike on ebay and if any other list members from Italy can fill in the gaps in my observations, I would surely appreciate it.

I have owned both a Mondiale and a Mirella, so it is with than foundation, I refer to this LERI lower-end model on ebay. As far as I know, the LERI company was a bike/motorbike maker that also made their own tubing. I was told this by Vince at the Italian trade commission years ago and also saw that to be the case based upon decals I saw on these bikes.

As far as I now, LERI tubing was never as big as Falck, Columbus other related CR time line companies.

If you look at the fork crown of this bike on ebay, it has "mirella" stamped in it, even though it is a full-fledged LERI bike and not a Mirella made with LERI tubing.....this is one obscure rascal.

I also have seen Mondiale with a fork crown with "Leri" stamped in it as well, supposedly meaning the LERI tubing was used somehow. I guess the main purpose of this bike outing is that even though it is not a pro-level machine, it brings back some memories of older bikes I have owned in the past.

And ultimately, are there any other CR listers that are familiar with the LERI, Mirella, Mondiale bikes that could share their knowledge.

Thanks in advance
