Subject: [CR] Saturday's report on the 1st Annual Americane' Vintage Track & Road Bike Festival

After the morning rain/thunder storms stopped we being Tim Potter Mark Agree myself with a few other early birds started to setup on the infield of the International Velodrome at Bloomer Park. The morning was pretty much as expected kind of slow due to the weather. The afternoon was a different story. People from as far away as Ann Arbor Ohio and Toronto started to wander in and explore the swap/show area. Mark Agree brought his Torpadorama to display as well as half a dozen or so other vintage road/track bikes. I brought a 61 Paramount and 74 Masi for show and alot of my vintage parts to sell(or at least try). Come to find out i brought some parts that people needed. Tim Potter brought a great assortment of bike posters and books along with parts/frames forsale and a very cool Moser bike. The Velodrome had to be the highlight of the show. Dale Hughes has a great program for anybody that doesnt have track equipment that wants to ride this steeply banked wooden track. He has bikes of all sizes that you can use and they happily give hands on as well as on track verbal assistance for the rookie riders. There were riders of all ages both male/female and of course track bikes of all ages. Old chrome Paramount's Cinelli's including a vintage Cinelli track tandem that the owner let Mark and Tim ride on the track. I thought one of the coolest things about having the show/swap inside the velodrome was hearing the riders whirling around the track making a clickity/clackity noise similar to the noise you hear while traveling by train. After shutting down the swap Tim Mark new friends Adam and Matt with myself headed to a local bar for beer/food and i heard stories from Tim about this years Cirque mostly about our buddy Tom Sanders and his im sure his worst ever Cirque visit having a stroke while there. Thankfully we hear Tom is doing much better and we hope he can make it to next years 2nd annual vintage track and road bike festival. Im sure Tim and Mark will have a report about todays events as i wasnt able to attend.
