Hi Keith, et al;
I recall many years ago being in a motor bike shop and viewing a poorly restored Ducati 750GT. It was modified to the owner's desires and certainly a long way from my (then very traditional) taste and a long way from original. I was surprised to hear the shop owner come back at my comments poo-pooing the sacrilege done on this bike with the words, "It's his bike, so he can do what ever he wants with it." It took a while to sink in, but now those are the words that I live by.
On another occasion, I recall being down by the Toronto Island ferry docks watching a mime who had painted himself completely silver from head to toe. Beyond the crowd was a Legnano chained to post painted from stem to rear dropout the very same silver. It looked cool beyond words.
Cheers,
Larry Strung Hamilton, Ont.
