You are supposed to insert the spoke so that the spoke BEND sits in the chamfered side of the hole. If the spoke HEAD accidentally sits in the chamfered hole, you are likely to break that spoke.

So it's normal to chamfer on the : inside, outside, inside, outside, etc. The real question (in my mind) is ~ ~ why did they chamfer 100% of the inside holes ??

Is that for radial lacing or something - on a radial wheel, do all the spokes heads go on the outside of the hub ??
