Just for the record, you have either clear coat, or anodizing. Clear coating over anodizing would be redundant. The good quality equipment is usually anodized. It is permanent, and "sweat proof"! The cheaper stuff is clear coated and is not sweat proof. Ends up with a patchy look where the clear coat has deteriorated and allowed the aluminum underneath to oxidize. Do not use abrasive metal polishes on anosizing. It will abrade away, leaving you with the kind of finish you get from worn clear coat.
