I'm a bit late commenting on this topic, due to being away in Philly (More on that later), and coming home to a computer problem.
The Motobecane Grand Record was one of my first "loves" My first encounter with a real live Nuovo Record gearset was on a yellow/black beauty seen along the road on one of my first long bike rides (on a Gitane Interclub). I later bought a Silver/Black one, one of the three colors offered, and can rember sitting and staring at it in my first apartment as a newlywed, my wife wondering what she'd got into.
