Subject: [CR] Liberia - Grenoble, France

Out of a stable of 20 er, 30...ahem, well anyway, I have only one French bike. It is a Liberia, made in Grenoble, France circa 1975. The bike is Gold in color and made of Reynolds 531 with chrome "socks" on the forks and rear triangle. It came equipped with higher-end Simplex, Stronglight, and Mafac components. It was my father-in law's bike and I sort of inhereted it. It was quite striking in its day, with gold anodized Super Champion rims and the gold paint scheme. Unfortunately, prior to my getting it, it sat for many years in a less-than- favorable environment. The paint has begun to flake off the frame and rust is creeping in under the paint flakes. I would like to restore it.

This is a real long-shot but here goes: Anyone have any Liberia decals? <g> LOL! Short of that, I will have to get some custom made. Also, any info on these bikes from listmembers would be helpful.
