Sadiq's 3Rensho is worth looking at, and would be fun and lovely bike for the right person. And, it nicely illustrates the challenges in making a small frame with 700c wheels for short people. The first clue is the very long 50cm top tube, compared with a very short 45 cm. seat tube. When you look at the pix, there is rather little clearance between the front tire and the down tube, even though the BB is Way High - I'd guess well over 12"/30cm. To make the frame work at all, you have to build with a very high BB and thus the top tube height goes way up. Fortunately, many women have long legs, so you can get away with lifting the BB a bit. But most seem to have relatively short torsos. Back then, I had a really hard time finding bikes that would fit my shorter friends. Bill Boston and Georgena Terry broke through this, using a smaller front wheel so the top tube could be shortened. Bill's slogan was "Short is Normal." I've seen a Hollands with an obscure wheel size smaller than 700c, and there were other work-arounds. So, the bike is a monument to skill, craftsmanship, and the difficulty of coming up with a well-balanced design when wheel diameter is constrained. I wish it fit me.

The seat tube is 45cm c-c and the top tube is 50 cm c-c. I believe it would fit a person 5 feet or five feet one inches; or someone small with a small inseam. Unlike many other small road bikes the frame takes standard 700c wheels. <snip> Pics are at:
