Tesch also built the off-topic, but somewhat KOF "Team Stumpjumper" mountain bike frames for Specialized also. I think this was around 1989 or so.
They were distinctive because they used a full investment-cast lug set, and a cast fork "crown" on the unicrown fork, to boot. As if that wasn't enough, they were a hot pink color. There was no missing one of those frames.
Using lugs on a mountain bike frame was sort of swimming against the tide by the early 1990's. Specialized soon went onto tig-welding and then more "exotic" materials in order to keep pace with magazine articles and the "marketplace".
