Jerry Moos asks "...Can anyone confirm or refute my theory that the early 50's Avant Coureur used a lug pattern similar to the later New Allrounder?..."

The New Allrounder appeared in the 1951 Claud Butler catalog, covering bikes produced Nov 1950 to Oct 1951 roughly. New lineups were shown at the Earls Court show in November. At that time, the New Allrounder took over the previous Avant Coureur hatchet-lug design, and the Avant Coureur took on a new bilaminate lug design

The Allrounder previously was a fillet brazed bike, and became a bilaminate fillet brazed bike when it became the New Allrounder.
