Dont be such a pussy Norris, weve got the white stuff down in the south too! I agree with most os what you say, though I dont think the Airlite company were influenced by French translations. and they had the Large Flange Hub listed many years before the war. I think it is just the way we were brought up, and thats the way Im staying, though when Roy Thame produced the Holdsworth Aids book, Im sure the words Large Flange were well accepted. Didnt Campag market them as such? As for the wheels, John Woodburn, riding a Stan Pike for his end to end record used tyed and soldered 28 spoke fiamme on campag small flange, so there! Incidently, I have some wheels built for Colin Lewis by Dave Bedwell, the faded name lewis can be seen on the rims, some are campag,s.f. and some Mallard.some used by Collin In the TDF. all for disposal. Ive got his last steel framed bike and his GT ally TT bike too. and they could all go in my clearout. Barrie Carter, Snowy Roundham.UK
