hi Paul,
All I can tell you is that I have an issue of Bicycling, February 1977, that has an advertisement for Shimano 600. The ad features the same hubs that I built up into a set of wheels in that period, as well as their interesting centerpull brakes that use a link instead of a straddle cable.
