Agree about the quality of Chick / Shorter frames - I have a lovely red 24" TT frame which came from ebay a few years back via a fellow who's bought it from Barry when he worked in Shorter's High Town Road shop here in Luton (long since defunct - and now a automobile upholsterer / trim shop).

However the reason this particular Shorter didn't reach a higher price (and I didn't bid) is probably because it appears that something has 'gone on' with the rear triangle. It, and the front forks, have been rattle-can sprayed in red over the original metallic blue, not sure why, but you can see evidence of this clearly in the shot of the chainstay B/B junction.

Still a nice frame though.
