I agree that it's helpful to enclose the url for an auction (and even more helpful to use a Tiny url!) rather than the auction no.

But I don't think it should be required to "sell" the item whilst "outing it". For example, "Coppi's 1951 TdF bike Buy it Now for $850" should be enough. I don't think one has to provide "evidence", "proof" or imply worth let alone entuse over it. And if you're that besotted with the item, you sure arn't going to tell others about it now are you?! Give us the url and let US decide if it's worthy of OUR interest.

I no longer out auctions here since I was made to feel an idiot for implying what was offered was bona fide by a lister who had, of course, no more proof it wasn't or was than I.

It's much more fun thinking you're the only one who has spotted a treasure that no one bids on until 23 bids come in at the last 30 seconds. Then you feel more of a fool than having outed something here that was more chalk than cheese.
