Offered to CR members are some beautiful and interesting frames - the 1970s Merckx is really rather nice and other two are interesting too - an unknown maker fancy lug from c1939 and an Alec Bird TT frame from about 1985.

There’s quite a number of special parts too. But I am surprised at the lack of response to yesterday’s small parts which contained some unusual items such as the Campy steel seatpost, SR rear gear 1st pattern etc

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal or cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller’s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer. I will always combine shipping in order to reduce costs.

All prices are in UK GBP Frames cost 80 GBP to ship to the USA, 100 GBP to ship to Australia/New Zealand and 11 GBP within the UK.

With the pound being still quite low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers. Paypal is quoting 1.65$ to 1 GBP.

MERCKX ROAD FRAME 1970s Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm Top Tube (ctc): 55cm Rear dropout width: 122mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 50mm Seatpost size: 27.0mm Mercks road frames from the early 1970s are very rare in the UK. Merckx licensed the use of his name to different builders in countries across Europe - in England inexplicably it was Falcon but in Belgium it was Kessels and I think Schauff in Germany... This frame sourced from Germany I think was probably built by Kessels taking into account the different possibilities. Its obviously a quality frame with drilled lugs and heavily slotted BB shell. Schauff built frames are really very crude by comparison. The frame weight is about 2kg and it takes a 27.0mm seatpost so is built from good quality tubing. The long Campy dropouts suggest it is from the first half of the 1970s. 245 GBP
