Marc- I'm no headlamp expert but that EBay one looks a lot more modern then I remember the common generator lights looked back in the day. The amount of plastic and unified generator/light housing look more like early/mid 1980s. The units I remember in the 1970s were more aluminum or steel constructed with separately made light and generator units that were attached to each other. Also IIRC the lamps typically had rounded lenses not rectangular shaped ones.

Hello list,

I know most of you are especially interested in vintage lightweights but I need some help concerning headlight (So not a typical lightweight item) of a 1979 built Gazelle Semi Race and I hope to find some help here.

I need to replace the headlight because the preowner mounted some horrible halogen thingy. From the helpful scans that another list member has sent to me I learned that the original frontlight was a "generator bloc" (I hope thats the right term for the combination of dynamo and headlight). I found such a thing in the bay and I would like to know if this Item might be period conform or maybe even the original.

Thank you
