On the subject of Swiss bikes, I have several nice photo-heavy books on Swiss cyclists of the Golden Age, with volumes dedicated to Koblet, the apprently-immortal Kübler, and the Tour de Suisse. I particularly liked Koblet's bike, which had very attractive lugwork and bar-end shifters. The frame is marked as "La Perle," which seems to have been the name of his team as it is also on his jersey. Was this a Swiss bicycle company, or were bikes sourced elsewhere and painted with the sponsor's name? I know that the Horton Collection has a lot of top Koblet memorabilia, but I have not seen a surviving Koblet bike anywhere. I am also curious about the La Perle colour scheme, since all the photos are in black-and-white!
