The hubs can oly be compare to their contemporaries the Suntour/ Suzie hubs. both have an an advantage over DA or Campy hubs speed/ free running. Mavic has several things over the Suntour hubs higer teleconferences, lighter easier to adjust hubs and a better secondary seal. Seals can not be compared to todays restrictive seals that cots spedand energy so through all thise thoughts out. My preference is for the Mavic hub for ease of use and looks. remember do not adjust the hub out of the frame you can kill a bearing this way, properly adjusted a little play is the best for service life. Service life is in the 50k range for bearings though those that have sat idle for long periods may be shorter.

BTW I still ride several Mavic and Suntour hubed wheels when out on a group rides it is still noticeable how well these hubs roll freely, sometimes to the shock and awe of others on very expensive aero wheels.
