Yes......ideally be best if the head tube could be used as it is.......which means limited to size of frame.

The tubes could be reheated and drawn out, though a less damaging way would be to painstakingly grind the old tubes out, then when re building I'd go for silver brazing.

I have such a project to do myself....a 1953 Rotrax Concours........pics of the 'remains of the frame' are on my flickrsite http://www.flickr.com/photos/kevin_sayles_bikes/ I reckon I'll still have this project to complete when I retire in 10 years time........that is if I do retire?
