In reference to a bike offered for sale that did not meet it's asking price, Dale Phelps wrote:
"1) The busted seat lug is a deal-breaker, the crack extends from keyhole to the edge of the lug. Nothing about this bike is unique enough to overlook that."
Which got me to thinkin' much more generally...
Can't a crack such as the one described be dealt with by drilling a small "stop hole" at the bottom of the crack? Or is the general consensus that a frame with that type of damage is essentially ruined? If you had a great frame in need of restoration that had a similar crack, would the crack be enough to keep you from re-painted and re-building the bike (assuming a stop hole was drilled)?
