Years ago--has it really been 26 years??--when I was running Campagnolo's support program post Bill Woodul-- fellow Campagnolo USA employee John Campbell and I committed to giving a seminar on use of the toolkit at the old Vegas Show in the convention center. It was September 1984 and we made no formal preparations aside from John creating some photocopies of the poster that's been mentioned.

I started the presentation by admitting we had not rehearsed anything stating if we needed to practice we must not know what were doing. Fact is I was covering our butts, we had no time to practice since I'd been on the road at races and John had been busy preparing for the unveiling of C-Record at the show (but that's a different story).

The point is, to support Dirk's question, is that we expected a dozen shop rats to attend. Instead we had a full to the rafters crowd who had multiple questions at the end of our tool-by tool-presentation. There was an incredible demand to know how to use the tools from even the most experienced shop hands. We had to be kicked out so the next seminar could take over the hall.

Yesterday I?ve found an almost untouched Campagnolo tool kit, the big one in the wooden box, for a very reasonable price. The original poster for the workshop wall was included but no additional instructions. Was it really sold without any manuals? Who now thinks ?If this i.. doesn?t know how to use them, he shouldn? t own such fine tools? is probably right, but I?m just wondering if there was any official Campagnolo manual for the tools. (I know Barnett?s book)
