I've got my pics up of our Classic Bike show now. It was a great success. The new venue at the Smith Cove Cruise Ship terminal was the best ever. Weather turned out very nice, and brought over 9000 people to the Expo. We had 120 bikes in the classic show, with 38 of them being Jack Taylors. Ken Taylor was here in Seattle for 3 weeks, and thoroughly enjoyed all the attention. He finally went home last Thursday. He is a true English gentleman, and very enjoyable to be around. He has a memory like an elephant, and is full of stories. And he has so much knowledge of world affairs, geography, and things modern. I wish I could have spent more time with him. He has cycle toured all over Europe and has been to the US many times. No longer riding since his bike accident 15 years ago, but very healthy anyway.

And here are pics of the rest of Ken's visit, including a stop at Jeff Groman's Classic Cycle shop on Bainbridge Island, and a visit to some customers who purchased their Taylor tandem in 1971 and had not seen Ken since then.

Next year, 2011, will be the 75th anniversary of Jack Taylor Cycles. Erik Zo suggested we encourage the people who run the CTC York Cycle Show and Rally to have a Jack Taylor celebration, so I have written to them. If you have a Jack Taylor bike and need an excuse to go touring in England, here it is. It is in late June. I am planning to go for at least a couple weeks, touring Northern England and maybe a bit of Scotland after the Rally. Ken is up for it, and says Jack could probably be persuaded to go too, as it is only 50 miles away for them. Please pass on to other Jack Taylor owners.

I've got a few jerseys left, as well as caps and water bottles, some of them signed by Ken. Get em while they are hot!

enjoy
