I believe the following statements to be true, and hope to be corrected if I'm in error: 1) These Frejus-branded cranks are indeed of Magistroni manufacture, but private-labeled. 2) These were the very top line Magistroni model. Here are the things that really move my dial about this forged stuff. --> On the backside, notice the forged-in offsets for the ring mount bolts, and the near lack of machining marks near the center. --> On the front, note how narrow the spider and crank arms are, the concave-head outer ring bolts, and the very deep forged-in groove on the crank arms. And the ridge for the pedal eye.

Matthew, if you'll take $50, they have a new home at my house.., hanging next to the lesser Magistroni on the wall, to remind me of the Atala ones I let go. If you got full price already, that's wonderful.

Offered for sale is a "Frejus" steel cottered crankset which was removed from an early 60's "Tour de France" model bike. I believe these were made by Magistroni. While they do show quite a bit of mileage, they'd be perfect for your "rider" resto project Frejus. Included with the crankarms are 2 chainrings (50 and 47T) with all hardware, as well as the BB and cotter pins which came from the same bike. There are no markings on the BB that I am familiar with aside from the letter "C" on the spindle. The arms are 170mm in length. Condition is "good", but might not work for your show bike. The bottom bracket is also in "good" condition, though there appear to be a couple of small pits starting in one cup.

I am asking $80 shipped in the ConUS.*

*Full disclosure here: I haven't a clue if this is way too high or way too low. Having no recollection of seeing these for sale, I honestly haven't a clue what they are really "worth" on the open market, so I pulled a number outta you know where. For all I know, these might be worthless crap and I am way off. If that's the case and you are interested in them, please make an offer that you find to be appropriate. If I under priced, buy 'em quickly and send 'em off to Japan or whatever!
