I always thought a Maxy type spindle or axle, was one with the male threads on the end of said axle. As oppossed to a standard type that had female threads in the end of axle. I can't see Sugino going to the trouble on such a cheap part as to make different type tapers. Galli made some nice stuff, I can't see them using a $2 Maxy axle on their sets.
