Listers and Listees,

First, let me take a short moment to thank all CR members in the Portland / Beaverton Oregon area for volunteering to assist me in the acquisition of a long sought after bike (not a personal Holy Grail...just something I wanted).. The bike in play was a 1981 Pro Miyata in very nice condition with lots of dust. All decals intact. George Ramos stepped up huge on this one and sealed the deal, packed and shipped the bike like a pro and it arrived in Georgia unscathed by Fed Ex Ground. The Miyata appears to have been purchased as a frame only and then built up with a variety of parts including a Atax stem and bar, Avocet 26.8 seatpost, Gold OMAS headset, Shimano 600 hubs and pedals, Mavic G-40 rims, Weinmann 605 brakes, Shimano 600 Arabesque RD, FD and shifters (with Blue Campagnolo rubber shifter covers!) and Sugino Mighty Competition crank. The Atax bar and stem and the Weinmann brakes are out of place on this bike. So I would like to replace those with an model appr opriate Nitto bar and stem together. Possibly a Nitto Technomic (90mm reach)with a Nitto Olympiade bar 42cm C-C. In addition, an appropriate set of Shimano 600 non - Aero brake levers with good hoods and calipers are needed. Ideally I would like the Bronze version with slotted levers. Shimano Model BL-6207 and BR-6207 I think which is a little later then the Arabesque group but look kinda cool. This is a rider and not a show bike so nice used condition is preferred. If you have what I need, shot me an E-mail at averyallen@aol.com

Thanks,

David Allen
