The question is, Weinmann Carrera model 600 or 400?

The Carrera model 600 seen here:

...is much more common to find, and you are likely to have very little trouble in obtaining a suitable set.

The Carrera model 400 seen here:

http://www.velo-pages.com/main.php?g2_itemId=29001&g2_imageViewsIndex=1

...can be a whole lot more difficult to source to the extent that they did not enjoy as long a production lifespan, and consequently, no where near as many were either made or sold.

Depending upon your particular circumstance, you may be interested to know that the Weinmann Carrera model 400 calipers themselves are nearly identical to contemporary Dia-Compe Royal Gran Compe 400 components, and assuming that we omit late editions having their respective name imprinted on the actual caliper arms, the only real differences are the inscriptions found on the facings of their quick release mechanisms and the "Made In Switzerland" versus "Dia-Compe Japan" markings found on the backside of the arms where no one is likely to notice once everything has been properly mounted onto a bicycle. As for the brake levers, the same level of similarity cannot be found between the Weinmann and Dia-Compe brands. However, I do have a lightly shop soiled but NOS genuine set of "drillium" style Weinmann 185-100 brake levers with hoods should you have need (...technically, these would be more appropriate for their model 605 calipers dating from the late 1970's through mid 1980' s - but they are darn close to the model 185 levers normally associated with both the Carrera 600 and 400 models - $45.00 USD shipped USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation, and you can contact me "OFF LIST" to arrange purchase should you desire).
