A classic and somewhat eclectic Allegro, from, I would say, the early to mid 70s. The Serial # is 249810. The measurements are: TT-57.5_; ST- _57.5_; HT- _16.5_; Allegros were made in Switzerland, a lugged frame of Reynolds 531 DB steel tubing with Campagnolo dropouts w/ mounting lugs for rack/fenders. The seat stays extend and wrap gracefully around the seatpost. The bike is equipped as follows: Guidon Phillipe Handlebars; Weinmann brake levers; SR stem; Stronglight headset; Universal front brake; Campagnolo clamp on down tube shifters; Stronglight Crank set - 54/44, 170mm crank arms; Campagnolo NR pedals with Christofe toe clips; Stronglight BB; Dura Ace Front Derailleur; Campagnolo Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur; Dura Ace rear brake; Zeus seat post; Turbo (Selle?) Seat; Shimano (Dura Ace) Hubs laced to Wolber clincher rims.

Everything works properly. Bearings and races are in good shape throughout. Frame treated with Weigle's Frame Saver. NOS tressostar handlebar tape, replacement Cane Creek brake hoods, and DiaCompe cable clamps have been applied.

On the down side, the paint is scraped and not so nice, the decals are history, parts need more elbow grease to shine up, some rust on parts like the brake pad holders is in evidence, and as a consequence, the overall appearance of the bike is one of tattered former elegance. Nonetheless a solid and very comfortable retro ride! Please email with questions or for pictures, which I have available. $425. Someone tell me please if this is out of line, I don't have any good reference for the value of this bike. Thank you.
