Subject: [CR] Parting out bikes

Dale I know what you are saying about parting out complete bikes but I hope you don't make a CR list rule about it. Thanks Doug for your reply that the bike was assembled from parts - not that you should not have parted out an original but I'm glad to hear you assembled it.

I part our bike regularly. The market demand & ease of shipping parts makes it attractive. I try not to part out unique or special bikes. It was very hard for me to split the Weigle road / track pair & wish they could have stayed together. The road bike found a good home in Pittsburgh & is being ridden. I've had offers close to my ebay asking price on the track bike.

I know we have this discussion periodically , but I hope we don't have a CR rule about parting out bikes, unique or common. This would be a hard one to police (what's unique enough to be deemed "too worthy to part out"?)

My 2 cents,
