Ah, the semi-annual crank dustcap discussion. Right on schedule.
I tossed them in the 70's. In the 80's, I started using them again. When it comes time to pull the cranks, if there were dustcaps in place, ideally installed with a light film of grease on the threads, the puller screws into the threads much more positively and easily.
