Hi all. I have to ship a bike to switzerland, and it's proving to be more complicated than I thought. I was just going to go with two boxes, under the USPS limit, seemed straightforward enough..but the maximum allowable insurance is $650 to Switzerland! Just ridiculous. I tried FEDEX but each box would be nearly 500 bucks!
I tried a freight forwarder, and they were as expensive as FEDEX.
I'm going to ask the buyer if he's willing to risk low insurance coverage, although I'm not too thrilled with the idea myself. Beyond that, I am really stumped. I hate to tell the guy we can't do the deal because USPS is so weird about insurance coverage.
