Hi listers,

Now that I know what to call my Holdsworth, recommendations for frame resto work (prep & paint) are welcome. The real question I want to ask is: do these costs seem in line with listers' experiences? I have two *estimates* for these tasks: (I would encourage sensitivity regarding names - in respect of our erstwhile trade service provider's reputations and businesses and feelings)

alignment check & OLD change basic color pearl clear brazings (4 little bits - no structural, no 'dents')

polish & outsource chrome dropouts decals decal app lug lining, simple

One price is local west coast: $900 One price has $100 for shipping to the midwest already added: $755

Are these numbers acountably different just because of differences in regional cost of living? Should I be worried about getting what I pay for? I know industry reputation may account for some difference. Both shops have the respect and custom of the members of this list. I ask because, frankly, I'm too poor to plunk down this kind of money without serious consideration.
