When you look up the HTS code 8712.00.25 the duty rate appears to be 5.5% However, when I recently brought in a Hetchins from England, I wascharged $86.00 by UPS on a rated value of $500.00 The purpose of the Harmonised Tariff System is to give all trading countries a common system for assessing import duties. Many of us bring bikes into the US from overseas, and it would be really useful to know what these supplementary requirements are. I will do some digging, as we have an International Trade Assistance office not far from me. I will share what I learn.

Cheers

If it is the same as in the opposite direction to the EEC, the special rates apply when the parts are used for aircraft!
