Noah, why fret. It's a hog dang skewer. Cut and thread to suit. You will not burn in hell for it. Thumb your nose at anyone who has a problem with it. It's a bike. You are entitled to make it work.

It has always befuddled me when someone takes issue with a BFH, or whatever tool they deem innappropriate to work on bicycles, comes out. It's as if they think bikes are made in padded rooms with velvet gloved little angels polishing stuff to the configuration it is. Get out the big tools! Get dirty, get sweaty, get oily, cut stuff up. Savor the experience.
