Returned Home late yesterday afternoon from Leesburg.
Thought this year's event was really great! Many old friends missing, but a lot of new faces, and new energy some from NYC, some from Philly area, and some from away. Hope you all had a good time and will return next year.
Wayne, MJ and their volunteers worked their tails off to put on a good show. Weather was good, not as hot as other years, and on Sunday those of us in the show building got to look out at the most amazing rain shower, really hard, only lasted a few mins, but it was something!
The caliber of the bikes was way up imo, a lot of diversity, both new and old. Every one of the rides brought folks back with smiles on their faces. Toms road/gravel ride sounded great, folks on the long ride were treated to some beautiful countryside.
I did the shorter ride on Saturday with Jamie, Drew, Wayne, Mike S. Larry B., Billy, Eric, Elton etc, and we rolled out pretty easily, and behaved ourselves, for most of the ride,,,,,,, That is until this guy on a tri-bike looked at us and our bikes, pointed, and said "you guys need to be on the bike path!" I won't go into what happened next, but lets just say we allowed him to see that first impressions aren't always what they seem. In the end we became friends and invited him to the show.
Lots of stories, friends, cool bikes, and nice weather, what could be better!
