Subject: [CR] 60's Raleigh Carlton Chrome Frame?

Greetings,

I'm looking at purchasing what I think is an early '60's Raleigh/ Carlton Gran Sport. The parts spec is not stock but a mix of Sun Tour, Campy from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

I know whatever you can find on Google about the bike, but not much else. The big mystery about this one is...it was all nickel or chrome plated when the previous owner bought it. He thought it was a Super Course and it might well be. He is looking for photos of the original frame he bought before he painted over the nickel...so no decals to help out. It has the wrap around seat stays, and the rear canti brake cable hanger bridge I found on photos of Gran Sports and Super Courses. The lugs are nice but certainly not the hand made. Anyone got any ideas about the type of bike a solid plated Gran Sport/ Super Course Carlton/Raleigh might be? It has the circular "Carlton" like Raleigh head badge that is also similar to the other early 60's bikes I found on line. Your input is appreciated. Serial number and photos are forthcoming.

Cheers,
