It's important to note that there may be different models of Nadax bottom bracket. People keep mentioning one that is used for buggered up threads, but I thought mine is nicely threaded on both cups, installed wonderfully in my nicely threaded Torp b.b. shell. It has been way too long since I've had it apart, and could not remember for sure, so I went looking for pics in my files. I found three images taken before I installed it the last time, and sure enough, it appears to be ideal for a shell with bad threads ON THE DRIVE SIDE ONLY. Which means, the non-drive side is threaded for the 36mm shell, and the drive side has smaller threads that the drive side lockring threads onto, and simply rests snugly in the b.b. shell opening on a beveled edge. I does appear that the non-drive cup and cartridge may be fixed together. Enough talk for the archives ... now here are the pics:

I wouldn't be surprised if some have replaceable bearings, and some do not, although I have no specific knowledge on the subject. It does look like it would be difficult to replace them on my unit, but that is beyond my area of expertise, and those with more experience there may be able to say more.

Hi all, I could be wrong, its been quite some time since I pulled my one that I had in an ALAN apart, but I'm quite sure the bearings and the spindle are all made as one, NON replaceable, but I could be wrong...........regards wayne davidson Invers NZ............

> Hi List, I used a Nadax BB. in my lugless Jack Taylor. The fixed cup threads were bad. I have heard this is somewhat common in lugless frames, some not even being tapped at all. The Nadex is a perfect solution. They seem to be fairly scarce, in North America at least. Mine came from a U.K. source. I believe they were also sold under the Checkoslovakian Favorit brand. I imagine the Taylor would have originally used a Bayless unit B.B. and cottered cranks.{ it's a 1964 frame}. The only snag I encountered was the spindle width was a MM or two too short to use Stronglight 49 cranks, the chainring bolt heads contacted the BB. cup. I had to substitute model 93 cranks.
