Hi Richard. A lot of the Stronglight cranks came w/ 7 x 1/4" bearings in a plastic [Delrin? Teflon?] retainer. There's absolutely no reason not to use 11 x 1/4" loose bearings on both sides. 7 just isn't enough. Campy retainers typically [i think always] had 11 bearings. But retainers only add problems. Good luck. Billy Ketchum; Chicago, IL; USA.

Does anyone know what size and the number of bearings that go in a late 60's Stronglight bottom bracket, the BB normally matched to a 49d crank set? Thanks in advance.
