Simplex Criterium shifters went through a lot of variations: Pressed steel with checkered plastic covers, alloy with S and Simplex logoed plastic covers, domed clamps with the starred S flanked by stylized wings, pointed clamps with the S in star both flanked by textured panels and without, flat clamps with the roughly triangular Simplex logo, plastic wingnuts poking outward, lower profile wingnuts, and no wingnuts. All those and more can be seen by the inquiring eye in this little ad hoc gallery I threw together:
