Good day all,

With pain in my heart, I offer one of my nicest bikes for sale to the list. There are just too many in my collection, and I've recently added some new ones, and had a better look at what I already had. So I have decided the Plum Vainqueur has to go. In a way you could say the U. Scanini (also Belgian) will take the place of the Plum ... Plum Vainqueur is a very old Belgian brand (1910), with a long history in racing. They used to have two shops in Gent Belgium, now only one. In the basement of the shop is a very nice small museum, I took some pictures while I was there, and these pictures are in my wooljersey album.

I have asked Pierre, the owner, about my Plum, he told me the frame was build by Torpado of Padova. You may have heard of the brand name Paganini, which is also a house brand for the Plum shop, and also build by Torpado. It is a very nice frame, although the tubing is the somewhat urbane Tange Champion no. 2. Funny though that Torpado build with Tange tubing at all. The colour is what I would like to call 'candy apple red'; its an almost translucent deep metallic red, reminiscent of cromovelato. Possibly the frame is chromed completely, I'm not sure. A nice and possibly rare detail is the name Plum engraved into the toptube. I assume the tube is thick enough at that particular spot! Paint condition of the frame is good, with some chips and touch-ups. Chrome is in excellent condition. There is no rust, no dings or dents. The bike was rarely used by its original owner.

I'd like to sell the bike completely, that is to say, without the wheels you see in the photos, nor the chain. This will make it fit into a 10 kgs box. So the frame will come with full Campagnolo Nuovo Record parts (in excellent condition), Miche alloy headset, and white Turbo saddle (in reasonable condition). Plus the Cinelli 1A stem (120 mm), and Cinelli 66-42 handlebars. I will also take off the existing cables, and include a set of NOS (white) Clarks cables. The seatpost is 27.0 Campagnolo NR. I had the seattube reamed from 26.8 to 27.0, so this post fits. If you want it lower than it is now (77.5 cms from center of bb to top of saddle), you'll have to cut off a bit of the post, since the reaming doesn't reach that deep.

Geometry:

- seattube: 56.5 cms c-c - toptube: 56.5 cms c-c - rear spacing: 125 mm - bb shell threading: Italian

I am asking 485 usd for frame and parts. Shipping cost is 85 usd (Priority, insured, trackable). Don't hesitate to ask me anything you want to know, and what I have left out in this long (and possibly boring) story!
